Matt Taibbi

Main Library Auditorium

One of the smartest—and funniest—chroniclers of the rise of Trump, growing inequality, and Wall Street excess, Matt Taibbi is also the author of four NYT bestsellers: The Great Derangement, Griftopia, The Divide, and Insane Clown President. In talks, as in his award-winning articles for Rolling Stone, Taibbi paints an alarming portrait of politics, media, and culture, providing a way forward against our most urgent crises.

This fall, Taibbi releases his fifth book, I Can’t Breathe: A Killing on Bay Street, described as “a work of riveting literary journalism that explores the roots and repercussions of the infamous killing of Eric Garner by the New York City police.”

All programs are free of charge. Auditorium doors will open at 6:30 pm.
